I thought the IKEA in Emeryville was bad

I've always dreaded visiting the holy IKEA. The large crowds of slowly moving morons, the winding pathways that make the already unnecessarily large building seem even larger, and the complete lack of any salespersons. Then again they do have pretty decent furniture and accesories for the price they charge. Ok, so IKEA has stores in such countries as Saudi Arabia and The United Arab Emirates, which is a little surprising I suppose. However, I never realized just how popular IKEA is in the Middle East. Case in point, one store in Saudi Arabia was offering a promotional discount deal. 8,000 people showed up days in advance. The resulting stampede when the doors opened led to eighteen injuries and three deaths. To die in the name of IKEA, now that's pretty sad. If you're interested, here's the link.
