Maybe you were wondering...

Maybe you weren't, but I just wanted to explain why I decided to post that picture of the deteriorating bike several posts ago. Well, you see, over the past year and a half or so, I have been working at a medical clinic in Berkeley, CA. This old skeleton of a bike has been locked up to this sign post for the entire duration of my employment with one of those heavy duty bike locks. It was pretty much in the same state now as it was then. Which leads me to ask, "How long will it stay here?" and, "who exactly is responsible for getting rid of it?" I'm under the impression that this bike will stay here for as long as it takes for it to erode enough so that the bike is no longer attached to the post by the lock. But who knows...

TGIM

So, I'll be heading off to Busty's soon. We're going to the Beck show tonight in SF with Fisting Champ no less. I'm excited and all, and just so you're all not left out. (or whatever) I've added a le Tigre video to the side bar on the right. They will be the second top reason to celebrate (the first of course, celebrating another year in the life of Busty). Oh, yeah, and Beck will be there...

Amorphophallus titanum

I got to see this "corpse flower" at UCB's botanical garden this Saturday, it was pretty cool (both the flower and the botanical gardens). I had wanted to bask in the aroma of the corpse flower, wanna guess what it is supposed to smell like? But, alas, the smell only lasts for the first twelve or so hours after the bloom opens, and we didn't arrive until several days after the bloom had started to let out it's pungent odor. I had never been to the gardens, so I was pleasantly surprised. It was quite a bit larger than I had expected. Oh damn, Mr. Menzel wants to go get shelves, I guess that is it for now. Ciao folks.

Who the fuck?

So, I finally used the htnl code that I got from Fisting Champ. Right on brother. I've been listening to a lot of PJ over the past few days. I really dig her latest album. Right on sister. Not much else to post at the moment, ciao.

More costumes

Here are a couple more finalists....

Decisions

So, I was considering doing Hedwig for Halloween. Now in reviewing the assortment of costumes one has to sort through, these were my top contenders (plus the one at the end of Wig in a Box, but I couldn't find any pics). Anybody want to leave thoughts on which one I should go for, taking into consideration hair, costume, and make-up?

The White Stripes again

The White Stripes

Speaking of upcoming shows I'm scheduled to attend. I'm also seeing The White Stripes play in Berkeley at the Greek theatre in August if I'm not mistaken. Scary thing is I will be seeing them with my dad and his new wife. I'm kind of torn over this one, seeing the White Stripes would be pretty sweet, but to also be with the ageing couple trying with all their might to be cool, that always seems to be at shows I go to. Sigh... focus on the positive, focus on the positive, focus on the positive...

le Tigre

Posted by Picasa

I am going to the Beck concert in SF in a couple of weeks, but mostly I am going to see le Tigre open. Man, I'm finally going to see Kathleen Hanna in person. Saweet! I'm not exactly sure what to expect, but it should rawk damnit.

The Pixies

The Pixies! Posted by Picasa

I was just listening to Surfer Rosa, which has become my most listened to Pixies' cd, and I am still amazed just how much the Pixies rock. I wonder how long it will be for them to play again in the bay area. Do you think they might just endlessly tour? That would be tight.

Once, when I worked at a poster store...

I wonder if I still have this poster? Posted by Picasa

There are a plethora of reasons why I find this poster amusing, although trying to picture a viscious racket with arms probably tops the list.

Which oddly reminds me that earlier this week I was walking down Shattuck Ave. in Berkeley, and who would be there sitting in his decrepit old wheelchair? If you happened to spit out, "Spare any Change." You would be correct it is the "spare any change" crackhead from my telegraph days... wow, how the times change.
