Canada

Canada consistently provides me with humorous delights. The newest creation from our northern cousins to enter my realm of awareness is Neilson's fresh homo milk. Now, as a gay man the first thoughts to cross my mind were a little disturbing. My partner's coworkers brought it back on a business trip up there and thought it he would find it quite amusing. The first in twenty years

So two research groups independently discovered a new primate, the highland mangabey aka Lophocebus kipunji. Residing within the thick rain forest of Tanzania's Udzungwa mountains, this unusually colored, long-haired primate is not thought to have more than 500 living individuals. Having obtained a degree in anthropology, this type of news story always piques my interest. While reading the article that accompanied the picture posted below, there was one line that stuck out at me: "some farmers told us how they trapped and killed the different-looking monkeys that raided their crops." Interestingly, these two research groups were headed by Englishmen. Hmmm.... So, two English scientists go to Africa and "discover" a primate that farmers and, assumedly, other local peoples have been in contact with for years. Sounds like how Europeans "discovered" the Americas. It seems a tad bit ethnocentric to me.Posted by Hello
.
They are pretty damn cute though. I wonder how much it would cost of the black market to get one for a pet. (or a cool ashtray)

Music Overload

So, I've decided to rip all of my cds to my computer finally. See, I've been planning on doing this for, well, for years actually. Over the past two days I've gone through about half of my collection and now I have 243 hours of music on my computer. I love the selection. I guess that makes sense since they are mine. Oh, and the best thing, I found a whole host of cds that were MIA. The joy.

In addition to my cd mission, I've been steadily crossing things of my cleaning list. Come to think of it, a lot of my to do lists have been getting mighty short over the past week. The cherry on top has to be that I was completely stoned the entire week as well.

We got the third Blade movie too. Which might not sound too exciting, but it has Parker Posey in it, adding to my collection. I still need to get Personal Velocity, Clockwatchers, Henry Fool, and The Misadventures of Margaret.

Back at work

So, once more (with feeling) I got home late, got really high, and then totally became too lethargic to turn on my computer and post anything. Oh well, so here I am at work, alphabetizing. Oh, what joy. It is finals time at UCB, and that means I no longer have any student workers or volunteers. Which leaves all the grunt work for me, ugh. I really hate to file and alphabetize. Tedious work. But at least I get to laugh at some pretty amusing names. Today the best have been a guy with the first name of Cocaine (I am 100% serious here), J. Shoffeit (Shove it), and Coco Kee.

Sigh.... Today is going remarkably slow. It is not even 11 yet, and I'm already bored enough to blog.

sigh...

Ok, I lied

So, it is the day after my last post, and yet I still haven't made any additional posts. Why, you may ask yourself? Well, I'm taking this GRE prep course through Kaplan, and I ended up going to class last night. Well, after three boring hours, I was a little out of it and mighty tired. So, when I finally got home, all I did was watch Gilmore Girls smoke a couple of bowls and go to bed. I'm not sure why, but this class that I'm taking always brings me to the brink of unconsciousness. I'm not sure if it is the length of the class (3 hours) or the banal subject matter. I suppose it is probably a little (or a lot) of both. Anyhow, I'm back at work (oh, the absolute splendor of full-time employment). In some positive news, my beautiful partner received 3k from selling his company's stock. Green green green. I'm hoping to get some new jeans out of it. Cha-ching! Hopefully today after work I will post something about my Coachella trip, seeing DRC, work related stress, possible vacations to Weed (and jealousy for other's more exciting vacation plans), celebrity gossip, news stories that piss me off, and, of course, more family drama. How delicious?

Stay tuned...

I'm back

Well, it had been a while since my last post. I've been up to quite a bit, and I have an awful lot to say. So, when I finally am off work I will make several posts detailing the more interesting aspects of this past month. Oh boy you say. Finally. Probably not.

Here's a random fact:

I can't legally make a donation to a sperm bank. = (
Too much man-on-man action, shucks.
